Turning around and around in bed without being able to sleep is a real ordeal. Also, in the morning you feel fatigued, making family and professional duties a steep hill.
Did you know that we can prevent a good part of our sleep problems? These three golden rules on things you should never do before bed they will help you rest better.
Intense cardio
Although exercising regularly is key to getting a good night's sleep, shifting your cardio routine to dinner is not a good idea. Increased heart rate and energy levels make it difficult for the body and mind to fall asleep. Make sure there is a difference of at least three hours between cardio and your bedtime.
Eat greasy food
The human body takes hours to digest high-fat foods. Having the digestive system in full swing while we try to fall asleep is highly ill-advised. Prevent this discomfort from spoiling your night by keeping fast food, ice cream and other greasy foods away from the late hours of the day.
Take caffeine
Coffee and tea can be our allies during the day in many ways. Most people need it in the morning to stretch. However, when night falls, you have to be careful not to ingest more than you can handle. Otherwise, falling asleep can be a near impossible mission. To be safe, allow at least two hours between these drinks and your bedtime.
