Stretches to relieve neck pain

Neck Pain

Only people with neck pain know how annoying it can be and how much it can deteriorate the quality of life. Faced with the impossibility of finding a comfortable posture, headaches and back pain often appear.

If you want to relieve your neck pain, try these three stretching exercises (each one focused on a part of the neck). It is advisable that you take a long hot shower first to relax the muscles and be able to work better with them.

Lateral stretch

Sit cross-legged on the floor. Hold your right knee with your right hand. Place your left hand on top of your head and slowly tilt it to the same side. Apply gentle pressure with your hand to further stretch your neck muscles. Hold the pose for about 30 seconds and repeat the same operation on the right side. Remember to lift your head slowly.

Back stretch

Sit on the floor with your legs crossed, your back straight and your hips firm. Interlock the fingers of the hands and bring them to the back of the head. Apply pressure on the head downwards, trying to touch the chest with the chin. Use the heels of your palms to intensify the stretch. Hold the pose for about 30 seconds, then slowly raise your head and release your hands.

Front stretch

Kneel on the floor and sit back on your heels. Lean back and place your palms on the floor so that your fingers point back. Press your hands firmly to the ground as you push with your hips and lift your chest. Draw an arch with the back. To stretch better, let your head fall back, which will loosen your throat and front of your chest. Remain like this for 30 seconds and then lift your head and torso back to the starting position.
