For the preparation of chamomile oil homemade and enjoy all its beneficial properties, it is necessary to gather the following ingredients and materials:
- 1/2 cup of chamomile flower,
- 250 milliliters of virgin olive oil,
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin E,
- 1/4 of coffee tablespoon of rosemary oil extract,
- 2 containers with lids,
- 1 small plastic funnel,
- 1 strainer.
We recommend buying the dried chamomile flowers in a store specializing in natural products. If you use chamomile flowers grown at home, it is advisable to let them dry before any use. It is important because the moisture in the oil can cause fungus. Afterwards, the chamomile flowers should be cleaned by removing all the dirt and spreading them on an iron to cut them and let them dry completely.
The next stage is to sterilize a container de cRistal, putting it in boiling water for several minutes and letting it air dry. Then the olive oil is poured in, and it is filled up to one third.
The chamomile flowers in the olive oil and stir until all the flowers are completely covered in oil. The container is then covered and closed.
The container is placed in a place where it can receive the direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours a day. It is advisable to examine the container every day, opening it carefully and drying the moisture accumulated on the top with a paper napkin. Afterwards, it is closed again and stirred vigorously. Wait two weeks for the mixture to be ready.
After this time, the chamomile oil in a new sterile glass bottle. To do this easily and avoid losing part of the oil, you can use a funnel and a strainer to filter the chamomile flowers and avoid possible residues.
Finally, the rosemary oil extract and the vitamin E in the chamomile oil and stir well so that all the ingredients are fully integrated. Now the chamomile oil is ready to be used, directly from the bottle, and without forgetting to store it in a cool place without humidity.
