Healthy benefits of Greek yogurt

yogurt

El Greek yogurt It was originally made with sheep's milk, although today it is made from cow's milk, but unlike ordinary yogurt, it has more healthy properties thanks to its manufacturing process.

The Greek variety of yogurt has more flavor than regular yogurt, as well as a lot less lactose than regular yogurt, which is beneficial for people who are intolerant to this milk protein and which causes digestive problems. Greek yogurt does not set at high temperatures and can therefore be added to hot dishes, unlike regular yogurt.

Sometimes the milk used to produce Greek yogurt is boiled for some time so that a little water evaporates and this causes the milk to thicken, but the secret of this variety of yogurt is lacking in buttermilk, which makes it creamier and denser, but with a smoother consistency.

El Greek yogurt practically doubles the amount of protein compared to normal yogurt, which is why it is highly recommended for diets that seek to reduce body weight, since the greater the amount of protein, the greater the feeling of satiety, that is, it drives away hunger for longer.

Another very important healthy benefit of Greek yogurt is that it has very low levels of sodium, almost half of the content in a normal yogurt and as we know this mineral is harmful to health in excess, since unbalances blood pressure, affecting the kidneys and the heart, which is why this variety of yogurt is healthier.

Regarding its caloric level, it is lower than that of normal yogurt, because it contains only 9 percent of carbohydrates per cup, normal yogurts contain approximately 17 percent, therefore it is more favorable for any diet and mainly for those who have metabolic diseases such as diabetes.

Hi, sorry, but did you mention that lactose is a milk protein?
    Thank you.

Good observation Aleeh31, lactose is sugar (disaccharide), milk protein is casein.
