Most people know by now that a balanced diet It is one of the keys to enjoying good health, but what not everyone is clear about is how to execute that philosophy on a day-to-day basis.
To do this, the first thing to take into account are the food groups of which our diet should be composed: cereals, vegetables, proteins, fruit and fats. Always keeping this in mind, we only have to know what percentage of each group we should eat each day:
Vegetables 30%: To have a balanced diet, approximately 30% of the food we eat every day should belong to this group, in which, as you know, we find peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, etc.
Cereals 30%: The importance of cereals in a balanced diet is on the same level as that of vegetables. Pasta (macaroni, noodles ...), rice, whole wheat bread, etc. belong to this group.
Proteins 25%: In the third step we find the foods that provide protein to the body, such as meat, eggs and dairy products. In the case of being a vegetarian, this element can also be found in tofu, soy milk and some vegetables.
Fruit 10%: Fruit represents a small percentage compared to vegetables, cereals and proteins, but it is extremely important that it is present in the diet, since its vitamins, minerals and fiber are very necessary.
Fats 5%: Last but not least are fats. Within this group, also vital in a balanced diet, we find foods with healthy fats (very beneficial for the body) such as oil, nuts and salmon.
